Day 1,730, Quasi-Quarantine: Engrossing, Frantic "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" Hit That OBX Vibe

“One last nice thing to send you on before it all goes black.”

Surprisingly engrossing, Holly Jackson's "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder," it turns out, is the ultimate beach read. Kicking off a trilogy that gets progressively darker, this novel features offbeat English teenagers coping with peer pressure, drug use, sexuality -- and mortality.

Featuring great pacing but perhaps a few too many characters to keep straight -- I could have used one of Pippa's "murder boards" myself -- this book drags you along from shock to shock in a way that can and should translate well to TV.
